The short version. Welvin stores what you put in your threads so you can see it on your phone. Only you can see it. We don't sell your data and we don't show ads. You can delete everything at any time.
Who we are
Welvin is made by Dasun Induwara, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. "We" and "us" on this page mean Welvin. If you have a question about your data, email support@mail.welvin.io.
What we collect
- Your email address, to send you sign-in codes.
- Your name and profile photo, if you add one.
- What you save in threads: text, photos, files, links, and a location when you choose to share it.
- Messages you send us, such as support emails, so we can reply.
Welvin asks for your camera, photos and location only when you use those features, and never reads them in the background. The app has no advertising, analytics or tracking tools.
How we use it
Only to run Welvin for you: to sign you in, store your threads, show them on your phone, let you search them and answer your questions. We use your data because you asked us to provide this service when you created an account. We don't sell your data, we don't share it for advertising, and we don't show ads.
Who handles it for us
We use trusted service providers to run Welvin: a cloud provider that stores your account, threads, photos and files, an email service that sends sign-in codes and receives support emails, and a host for this website. They only process your data to provide their service to us.
When a message contains a link, your phone loads a preview directly from that website. When you share a location, the map image is loaded from a map service.
Where your data is stored
Your data is stored in the United States. If you live elsewhere, it is transferred there so we can provide Welvin. We choose providers that protect data with industry-standard security.
How we protect it
Your data is encrypted on the way to our servers and while it's stored there. Photos and files are kept in private storage and open only through temporary links. Your threads are linked to your account, and nobody else can read them through the app.
Keeping and deleting
We keep your data while you have an account. When you delete your account (Settings › Account › Delete account), your profile, threads, messages, photos and files are deleted straight away. Signing out also clears the copy kept on your phone. Other ways to delete your account.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, give you a copy, or delete it. Most of this you can do in the app yourself. For anything else, email support@mail.welvin.io from the address you sign in with and we'll reply within 30 days, usually much sooner.
Children
Welvin is not meant for children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, email us and we'll delete it.
This website
welvin.io uses no cookies, no analytics and no tracking. Like any website, our host keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses, for security.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. For important changes, we'll also tell you in the app or by email.
